One word... fan-freaking-tastic

Yes, that is seriously how life has been. FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! I love school, I love friends, I love learning about who I am, and I love trials.
Lets go backwards on that list-
I really do mean that I love trials. Yes, you can reread that statement if you want, but I love em. Sometimes in the beginning of a trial I may not be so grateful, but I know that trials truly are designed for each person individually. And from those individual trials, we can choose to grow or not grow. Sometimes I truly sit and wonder why some trials have to come upon us, but then I am reminded of the sore trial that came upon my (our) Savior. He felt everything. Every feeling that has ever been felt by every person who has ever lived. I think about my life as a girl and those mood swings alone are enough to make me feel bad for inflicting that on Him, but I know I have inflicted Him with more than just that.
I KNOW without a doubt that He knows each one of us individually and personally and He knows our hearts. And that to me, is fan-freaking-tastic :)

Learning about who I am-
Hmmm... weird concept there. I've been myself for 19 years now (yes, yes I sure did get older a few weeks ago) so I probably should know myself by now right?
WRONG!
Since starting school I have learned a lot about myself.
For starters- I LOVE to cook; I have especially enjoyed cooking with my friends or cooking for others. And I'm not half bad if I do say so myself! :)
Second- I like the house to be clean. I definitely took that for granted at home. My mom always says that it isn't clean, but it really always seemed to be. So guess what.. I've made my bed EVERY single day since starting school. And those days when I didn't, my fan-freaking-tastic roommate would make it for me.
Third- I have become "tough," kind of. Funny story- I broke my nose again. I won't go into all the nitty gritty about it, but we were making cinnamon rolls in my apartment yesterday and there was a flour war and my nose became in the way of someone's elbow. Quite funny, I laughed really hard. No worries, it didn't bleed, it hasn't bruised (it's being just like my first broken nose), and I somewhat straightened it myself. Ya, I really did, believe it! And no if you are wondering (mainly if my brothers are wondering), I didn't cry at all, I actually laughed really hard when it happened.
Fourth- I love my family. And they have truly had the biggest impact on my life. It's funny how when I meet new people and you're going through that awkward get to know you thing, my family is one thing that I can go on and on about. I've also realized how much of a "parent's" girl I am. I love my daddy and I think I become more and more of a daddy's girl every day. And my momma, well I'm pretty sure I can't go too long without calling her because I just have so much to tell her. I've been blessed with one amazing family.
At my apartment for my birthday dinner!
Fifth- I'm not afraid to be myself with my style and my personality. I love who I am and how I dress. Sometimes it's a little out there, but sometimes so am I. So here's my new outfit. Red skinnies and vans. I'm a fan and yes, they're fan-freaking-tastic!

Working it
Friends-
I have finally figured out that you need to surround yourself with the kind of people who allow you to be what you want to be and who believe in what you CAN be. My roommates are that; that was my one concern about school, and I had nothing to worry about. Funny story- President's weekend 3 of my roommates left to go visit family; let me tell you, I was sooo sad. I hadn't stopped to think how close I was to those girls and how much I love being around them! Then when Kaycee came home on Monday, we hugged and squealed from excitement to see each other. Did I mention how fan-freaking-tastic they are?!

That dreaded 6 letter s word- School
School at BYU-I is by far the best. That is my opinion and I may be completely biased, but that is my judgement on this situation. I love praying before every class. I love the bells in between classes. I love the friendship you feel from everyone. I love my ward. I love FHE. I love MY FHE family. I love my teachers. And I love what I'm learning. I'm so grateful to come to one of the Lord's schools and to have all these opportunities available to me. It's also the best because on those weeks when MOW (middle of week syndrome) is really kicking in, you can get some Kiwi-Loco or other yummy treat, feel the spirit in one of these dedicated buildings, or go to the temple and truly feel His presence in your life and the MOW just goes away. School is just fan-freaking-tastic!

Well now that I've just about bored you to the point of not wanting to read anymore, enjoy more pictures!! PS, there a few of just some new exciting things for my family!

Funny story- Monday, Wednesday and Friday I usually study with my brother Cody after our last class. Well last week while we were studying, he was talking about my sister-in-law's blog and he asked me, "Hey stupe (that's what he calls me), why haven't you been blogging?" My response in my head, "Aw, my brother reads my blog and likes it."

These are some pictures of me and my roommate Kaycee and some FHE pictures. Let me tell you about me and Kaycee.
Kaycee and I met at EFY 3 years ago (that's where the thiz face picture comes from). We were instant friends and got along so well. Her and I stayed in touch and come to find out, we were both living at Nauvoo House by ourselves, so we decided heck, why not room together.
Honestly- I'm beyond grateful for her. She has taught me so much about being a better person. I love our "secret" secrets and our sarcastic sense of humor. She has truly looked out for me with everything.
Not to leave anyone out, I love all of my roommates. I know its crazy because I really don't have a picture of all of us yet. I have a lot going on, I promise I will get one though. We like to have random dance parties, we enjoy our boy talk, and we LOVE food :) ya, we're pretty cool here at 406.
I am FHE mom! That's my calling this semester. I love it. Our "family" is so awesome. Our boys are the best boys. I love them! They're so sweet and kind. They joked about leaving us roses one day and guess what, they really brought me roses! I now have their roses on my desk (they're the kind that will last a long time ;)). And you know me and my love for flowers! It was really sweet of them!

College is awesome. Yep, I said it! It really is. I love it. I have learned so much about myself and my testimony has grown so much since being here. I love that we pray before every class. I love that there are bells that ring hymns between classes. And most of all, I love that temple that sits in my view every single day. This campus is truly full of the spirit of Christ.

I have been the beneficiary of so many tender mercies from my Father in Heaven in the past few days.
I'm so grateful for the love my Father has shown to me. I know that He knows exactly what's going on in my life and He is very aware of my needs. I'm grateful for my friends who have helped me with those needs.

There will be a bunch of pictures and lots of fun posts. I will do lots better! :)

Much love-
Michelle
