Halloween Bash!

I told you in previous posts that I was planning a Halloween party, it was a success (except for the scrape on my mom's nose due to the competitive nature of my family)
Carrie and I worked hard all day Monday to get everything decorated and made. We wanted to make food that was cute Halloween kind of thing. We made bones (pretzel stick with marshmallows covered in white chocolate), pretzel/hug/candy corn snack (super good), Frankenstein pudding cups, and mummy cupcakes.
There was a guess how many candy corn game (Trent won, he's definitely an engineer), a mummy wrap (toilet paper and spinning to remove all the toilet paper off the roll), pumpkin races (the boys brought the pumpkin down to the girls, girls took it back- this is where my mom's nose got scraped. You had to push the pumpkin with your nose. There wasn't enough room for all of us. Definitely my bad), cup/string game (you had to blow the cup down to your partner and they blew it back to the other end), and a pin the bow on Mr. and Mrs. Bones. It was a lot of fun!
It was fun making all of these things and setting it all up. We also had a family/couple costume contest and pumpkin contest. The pumpkins were brought carved.

Best costume award
The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe- stinking clever!

Now it's time to plan a Christmas party! :)

St. George Roadtrip

Welcome back to my blog. Let's make a habit out of these visits shall we? :)

This past Friday and Saturday I made the long road trip to St. George with Logan and his family.
Honestly, I loved every minute of the 8 hour car ride. Logan slept basically the whole way down, but it gave me time to just sit next to him and talk with his family.
On the car ride down. Lots and lots of sleeping
Moon in St. George
I didn't feel bad in the slightest to leave this cold, nasty, snowy weather in Idaho to visit some warmer weather in southern Utah. I could go outside without a jacket. Ahh.. the warmth. We checked into our hotel and relaxed for a bit and then we headed out for dinner.
We didn't plan on matching, but we did. We must be dating or something... :)
After dinner we drove to the Tuacahn Ampitheatre. It was so cool. It's outdoors and the backdrop is the red rocks. The performance we were watching was called Thriller. It was put on by a dance school and it was incredible. I loved it. Dancing is just great! They had zombies out in the crowd before and after the performance.
This was my favorite zombie. She was so good
Bubbles the Klown. HILARIOUS
After the show, we went to Menchies. It's my favorite frozen yogurt place. Yummy :)
I got to take the Peterson's family pictures on Saturday morning in St. George. It was beautiful! And guess what.. I got some super cute pictures of Log and me :)

He's a good looking guy.. I'm so lucky! :)

Anyways, we hit a few stores down in St. George and made our way back to Salt Lake and stopped at the City Creek Mall. It's amazing. Loved it!
The drive home from there was late. But  as everyone else slept, I got some good me and Logan talking/singing/laughing time. This kid knows what to do to make me laugh.
Thanks Peterson's for the fun trip!

Crafty/Wifey Week 8

It's 1:35 a.m. and I'm blogging. I really need to be packing for my St. George trip with Logan and his family, but I have 5 hours until they are going to pick me up so I have plenty of time right?! Let's hope so!
This week I worked on a Christmas present. Sorry that I can expose details about it, but I was crafty!

I also made this slushy from Pinterest that looked really good, but it didn't do it for me. I did not enjoy it.

I have made these many times but I want to share the recipe with you because of how good they are. Plus tonight I added a smidge of Nutella because I love it and I was feeling like an experiment to make them even better!
Granola Bars
2 cups nuts (I use dice or slivered almonds)
2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups oatmeal (I use old fashioned)
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup chocolate chipc
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
 Mix together and set aside.

In a large bowl that you can microwave:
16 oz bag of marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
(This is where I added a little bit of Nutella-maybe a fourth a cup)
Microwave until the mallows are melting. Mix it all together until it is all melted together. Add in your cereal mixture until it's all worked in. Spread onto a cookie sheet to desired thickness. Drizzle melted chocolate over if you want more chocolate!
Makes 2-3 dozen bars!
SOO GOOD! ENJOY! :)

I will be sure to let you know how my St. George trip is and knowing me, there will be lots of pictures too!

How I Met Mr. Logan

I can't tell you how long I've been staring at this blank blog post trying to decide how to write this all out.
I have told you lots of stories about Mr. Logan and you've read about how incredibly wonderful he is. But I have yet to tell you our how we met and little things like that. A lot of people have wanted to know this exciting little story, and after my cousin's wedding today all my aunts, uncles, and cousins wanted to know. I figured this was my cue to write it down here for everyone to know.

March 5, 2012
We were having ward FHE at Fat Cats and I was hanging out with my FHE brothers; we were in the middle of a game of bowling and I was up. The boys all lined up and I dove through their legs to bowl in my bright red skinny pants and an orange tie around my head. That's the first time Logan ever saw me. Awesome right?! Ya, it was :) Anyways.. when I was done with my turn, I turned around to see Kenon talking to Mr. Logan. Holy cow this kid was attractive and I wanted to talk to him. I went over and introduced myself. Turns out my FHE brothers were Logan's old roommates and he came to hang out with them!
I told Kenon to hook a sister up with him.
Within an hour after FHE I was on a date with Mr. Logan. Honestly, he made fun of me 99% of that date because I was from Shelley. But we found out that we had met before. He used to work at Foot Locker and he had sold me some running shoes. At the time he had a boot cast on because he broke his foot playing soccer. During our date he told me he worked at Foot Locker and then said something about his foot. All of a sudden it all clicked for me. This was the attractive guy that sold me Nike Frees in November. We were supposed to meet :)
We became friends on Facebook and I told him that I stopped by Foot Locker when I had been there to say hi, but he hadn't been there. He told me to not give up so easily.
Kenon Fenton was one of my best friends that semester and he worked as my "agent" to set me up with Logan. At the end of the semester I went to AZ for Jared's wedding and the day after I got home, Kenon invited me to play games at his house.
The sneaky guy had also invited Logan, but I didn't know that.
Logan came late, but still as attractive as I remembered. I had a hard time not looking at him while we played games and I think he had just as hard of a time not looking at me. I asked Kenon if I was seeing things and he reassured me that I wasn't. By the end of the night there had been extreme flirting, tickle war, a hug, and a request for me to come in when he was working at Foot Locker that Thursday.
Thursday couldn't have come soon enough. I went in strategically 15 minutes before he got off, hoping that he would ask me to go do something. He asked if I wanted to go get ice cream when he got off; he got my number and called me as he left the mall. We met at Cold Stone and we talked for an hour. I felt like I was talking to someone I've known my whole life; he asked me why I was into photography, I asked him about his goals. I loved every minute of it. It all went smoothly from there. We seemed to see each other often and it got better every time. It still gets better :)
That's our story; That's how everything started.
I do, however, owe a real big thanks to Kenon Fenton. He helped a lot :)
Now one more little quick story-
How I fell in love with Mr. Logan

On May 2 Logan went to the hospital with kidney stones. I went to see him after classes and spent some time with him. The next day I went back to the hospital after my classes and stayed with him the rest of the day. I did my homework while he slept and was dreaming of me wearing chocolate shoes (he's funny on drugs :)). That day I knew that there was no place I would rather be than in the hospital with him. That's a really big deal for me because hospitals give me major anxiety, but I didn't want to leave him. I told my roommates that night that I was falling in love with him.

It's been 7 months since I've Logan. Every day really does get better with him. I have learned so much about him and everything about him makes me love him more.
He's been right by my side through a lot of things and he has made me a better person.
He really is so wonderful.
He dances with me in the kitchen or when he pulls into my driveway he turns his radio up loud and he dances with me outside. He laughs at me every day. He teases me every day. He is my best friend and I love him!

Until next time- Be happy, life's better that way!

Catch Up!

Ok.. So I've been a little MIA on crafty/wifey posts and life posts. But I'm here to catch you up now! Week 4 for my personal challenge was an epic fail. It just didn't happen for me. Week 5 was a semi fail- I had a legit excuse. I didn't really make anything but I started another challenge that week. Every day in October I've been taking a picture. I'm behind on posting them, but it has helped me try to do photography every day. I love photography. It's really my passion so that was week 5 for me. My excuse for the non exciting outcome was I had my wisdom teeth removed. This was my first surgery ever and I was put out thankfully. It was weird. I was weird. I giggled and giggled all the way home and the next couple days. I had my share of pudding and chicken noodle soup broth; I was well taken care of by my mom! Thanks mom! Love ya! And I had a special visitor who came to see me on the only day that I was really swollen. Honestly I did pretty good with pain and swelling, so that was a definite blessing.
This was the only picture taken of me during this lovely chipmunk face stage.

Outside of my wisdom teeth I have been busy working at Kiwi Loco. Kiwi Loco has been a really good job for me. It has been a big blessing in my life to have a good boss and fun people to work with. But the biggest blessing that I have received from working there are the "regular" customers. I have been inspired and taught by their examples and light. They will never know how much their smiles have meant to me. But I am going to be done working there at the end of next week so I can more fully focus my efforts on my photography! (PS.. you can see my photography at mfowlerphotography.blogspot.com)
And spending time with my cute nieces and nephews.

Week 6- This was kind of a semi fail too, but I think it was a success. I am planning a Halloween party for my family with my sister-in-law Carrie. This has been my first party planning experience and honestly I want to be a party planer all the time! It's so fun! I'm going to be a party wife; it will be great! :) I'm excited to post pictures from it and then you can see all the cute treats/decorations we made. Plus, I was crafty and made invitations with Carrie. They were stinking adorable. Be watching for a Halloween post at the end of the month!

Week 7 (this week)- I was up in Rexburg yesterday with the one and only Mr. Logan. I went to his ward with him and then we made dinner. Steak and loaded mashed potatoes. Super good. I've made the potatoes before so they don't count. We went to a Walking Dead party/premiere party so we made PUMPKIN MUDDY BUDDIES. They were so good. If you like pumpkin, you need to make these.
Three ingredients:
Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses
Rice Chex
Powdered Sugar

Melt the kisses in a bowl. Add in the cereal until coated. Put in zip-lock bags and shake with powdered sugar until coated. You will not regret making these!

Let's see what would a Michelle blog post be without saying something about Logan.
I am in love the most handsome man ever. But honestly I hope you don't think so. I hope you think your spouse or special someone is that for you.
Logan makes me laugh just by certain looks that he gives me or little "moments" that he has of singing in the car in silly voices.
Yes, it is so overly cliche to say, but I really do love him more every day.
He always makes me feel special. Like today, my boss let me go home 2 hours early, and I called Logan and he celebrated with me over such a silly thing. He is kind and sweet.
It's my hope and my goal that I can show him the kind of love that he shows to me.
In a couple weeks I'm going to St. George with him and his family to watch a performance and I'm ecstatic. That's a long car ride and that means some serious Logan time for Michelle :)

Until next time..
Be as happy as a bird with a french fry :)

Details

I really shouldn't be blogging right now, I have a full plate with work and pictures. BUT this always makes me feel a lot better.

General Conference weekend is amazing. To be honest with you, I haven't always been trying super hard to pay as close attention as I do now. My first semester of school I took a class called Teachings of the Living Prophets from Br. Wahlquist. It made me appreciate conference so much more and it has also given me a HUGE desire to go in with questions needing to be answered. And my questions were answered.
No my answer was not to join the new forces of missionaries with the lowering of missionary age availability; I do believe that if this announcement would have been 2 conferences ago, I would have jumped on the idea.  But this goes to prove a point from one of my favorite talks from today's sessions. President Thomas S. Monson said "The Lord is in the details of our lives." I know that our Heavenly Father knew this would happen. He knew last year that it was too early too announce it, He knew next year would be too late. Our Father knows the details in EACH OF OUR LIVES. He understands where we need to be to meet certain people and when we need to hear specific messages. I'm grateful for His timing in my life. I have talked about it often, but I know His timing is perfect. I know that the paths we cross in this life aren't by chance. In this same talk, Pres. Monson talked about how when our prayers are answered we find joy. I know that as a the only girl in my family, it has been a prayer from both of my parents that I would find someone who made me uncontrollably happy and who would respect and love me unconditionally. I have found many friends who have done this for me. And I have met Mr. Logan. I'm so grateful for the prayers that my parents have prayed for me to find someone like him.

Another really great talk from today that I want to mention really quick is Sister Linda Burton's. She focused her talk on service and she gave four words to live by. "First observe, then serve." I'm grateful for my family because so very often they do this for me. They always help me and are willing to do whatever for me. I love them very, very much. I'm excited to be able to read the talks as they come out in the Ensign.

I'm a Mormon! I know it. I live it. I love it.
